‘He who pays the piper, calls the tune’. Business leaders have an outsized influence over how the future will be shaped. We all love to believe that the silver bullet is reskilling and upskilling of employees. Very important of course, but certainly not enough. What is even more vital is the reskilling and upskilling of senior leaders. They are after all the budget holders and decision makers who shape and enable the future of work. A very important responsibility thus rests on their shoulders to be responsible role models of future-fit leadership with an appreciation of what a post pandemic, digital and green future could and should look like.
