South Africa is slowly exiting COVID wave 3. Many are dusting off the old office access card or replacing the permanently misplaced one. Hopefully our commute back to the office is a trip back to a future and not to the past. Hopefully there is recognition that COVID has changed us. We have learnt to take control of our 9 to 5; learnt to appreciate that we can have boundaries; learnt new priorities. It won’t be easy to wrestle that hard earned control away from us.
So caveat emptor – let the buyer beware. While it might be a blessing amidst high unemployment, to even have an office access card, this card no longer buys our souls.
